CROLL!

Today I picked up a Croll mountain bike. Here's a good picture of it.

Now here are some not so good pictures of it.

It has a 1 inch head tube and a bad shock fork, so the fork and the headset (an original one) will be replaced. All the cables need to be replaced, and the brakes and shifters are not all that good, so they will be replaced. I chose a rigid carbon fork and disk brakes for the front, and avid single digit 7 V-brakes for the back. The rear deraileur is an XT, but I think I'll hook up my Paul deraileur. I've got a new Chris King headset, and I picked up a DT HUGI front wheel (disk compatable). I'm changing the cranks and bottom bracket to raceface and a titanium (white industries) bottom bracket, and I'm taking the titanium handlebars off the Nzumbi and putting them on this. It'll be sweet!!!!!!! As far as the paint, I'm just going to touch it up.

Croll bikes were made in Minneapolis way back by Walter Croll, and I guess he sold the company and Croll bikes were made for a awhile and then went out of business. I don't know what year this bike was made, and I don't know if it was a custom, but I know when it was made it was an expensive bike, and It's going to be a great bike!
